overview
One of the original design schools located on the edge of Bocoio – named after a famous MPLA Commander who died in 1975.During a visit to Angola in July 2009, the team returned to Bocoio in the evening to find the school illuminated. Generators were being used to light the classrooms at night for adults to attend. Because of the war, a whole generation grew up not learning to read or write. They attend class late into the evening after working long hours during the day, grateful for the opportunity to get an education.
