raise money
Do something fun, something you love, and make a difference at the same time!
Celebrate a birthday
Children love their birthdays and love to help others who are not as fortunate. Keep the family gifts for your child a tradition, but throw a great birthday party for him or her and ask guest to bring a small donation to RISE instead of gifts. What a gift it is for your child to help those in need!
Ideas to Host a Birthday Party
Organize a coin drive
Talk to your school about helping students start a coin drive. Have a giant collection jar in the school lobby, and ask parents to send in their spare change. Children can earn contributions by doing extra chores around the house, selling lemonade, raking leaves or thinking of other creative ways they could earn some change to change the lives of others.

Host a wine tasting
Arrange a wine tasting party in your home with friends. Provide appetizers and ambiance for the evening. Consider contacting a local wine seller to help. Ask that in lieu of hostess gifts, your friends make a donation to RISE. Plan to serve four white wines and four reds, starting from light to dark. Give each guest a glass and a pad of paper to record tasting notes.

Plan a golf outing
Invite a group of friends to be your guests for a golf outing to raise funds. Set the date and location. Decide on the format -“Scramble”, “Best Ball”, “Shamble” and “Golf Marathon” are all great options for a group. Pros at the course can help you decide what will work best. Check with your company to see if they will match the donations you receive for RISE.
