Mutundo and Kwawa are locations in the northwest area of Lubango where parents and the community, desperate for education for their kids, contributed funds to start building classrooms since the government is not in a position to do so. The Municipal Director of the Ministry of Education met the team at Mutundo and again at Kwawa – a man who seems to truly work for the good of the people, and to give kids access to education. The Principal of Mutundo and the community are grateful for the partnership with RISE. The school area is large, with over 2300 children and classrooms for about 600. RISE committed to complete 7 classrooms and refurbish 4. Construction is nearing completion, and the classrooms are already being used so children can attend at the start of the school year.
