"To commit minds to inquiry, hearts to compassion, and lives to the service of humanity..." NT Mission Statement | ![]() |
|
As a demonstration of this commitment, students at New Trier High School in Winnetka, IL have rallied to lend hands-on aid to Angolans. An effort that began in 2001-2002 with the senior class collecting enough clothes, shoes, blankets and school supplies to fill a 20-foot container has grown to include the other grade levels as well. Each year New Trier students raise funds to send a container to Angola and to help build schools in Angola. Several teachers and students have also made a "Pilgrimage of Service" with our RISE teams. |

"The Angola project is an opportunity for our entire school to participate in something meaningful that has changed us. We have impacted thousands of children's lives in Africa, and we have grown as students and educators through our involvement." Jim Reardon, Special Education Teacher (Excerpted from NT Township H.S. District 2005 BOARD REPORT.) |
